The Haptic Concept

The Wave Concept
The Un-p3 Project is an on-going experiment on how low volume manufacturing technologies can be applied to a consumer electronic product in this case a simple Mp3 Player. Till date I have developed 2 concepts, the Haptic and Wave concepts.
The Haptic concept uses laser cut plywood to develop its unique housing.
The Wave concept was created using rapid prototyping technologies. In
both instances, the industrial design has been inspired by the manufacturing process
and conceptualized to take advantage of the manufacturing technologies.
We are currently looking at the use of paper and cloth and potential housing materials. For the latest updates to this project do visit www.designsojourn.com

Heh heh. Yes my friend point taken! Not to worry, it is happening, and I am currently lining up my manufacturer as we speak.
Thanks for the great feedback as usual. And the Haptic will have a face lift soon. Btw you will be the first to see and hear of it!
At any rate, the wooden one would look awesome if a few of the layers were metallic. : )
As for the wave concept, it seems unfinished somehow. But I guess that's the nature of those pre-fab machines. I'm less inclined towards it because, to me, it's less of a departure from the iPods out there already. It's still very cool looking. It could pass for a bar of soap!
Thanks for the feedback. It sure needs work! Thanks for the analogy on the Wave concept.
The wood case could do away with that loop in the corner. Looks gimicky.
The waves could be thinner so the case could have a slimmer profile, so holding it would be like caressing a sexy beautiful alien woman's "epidermal membrane".
