The Cornell Undergraduate Society for Neuroscience is a predominantly undergraduate student organization that aims to promote social and intellectual collaboration and awareness in the field of neuroscience to those who have an interest and wish to further their knowledge in the field. I co-founded CUSN with my friend Sameer Ahmed (Cornell '07) in my sophomore year at Cornell. Within our first membership drive, the organization grew to over 200 members. The purpose of this organization is primarily as follows:

1. Promote academic advancement in the field of neuroscience by encouraging undergraduates to conduct research.

2. Promote intellectual collaboration through a monthly journal club.

3. Sponsor a publication that presents current advancements in neuroscience and discusses on-campus research.

4. Sponsor faculty speakers to present their research.

5. Promote interaction between faculty and students.

The Cornell Synapse is the heart and soul of the undergraduate neuroscience research in the country. CUSN's publication is the most successful of its kind and features the work of Cornell undergraduates who have done significant work in the field of neuroscience.
