Stenciled Coffee Table

This was a birthday present for my girlfriends brother. It's basically two side tables that can be put together for a coffee table.

We couldn't figure out what to get him for Christmas, and on the three hour drive home from Fernie, BC (we live in Calgary, AB) I whipped up this design in Illustrator.  We then toyed with the idea of painting it onto a coffee table.

After looking for a cheap coffee table, which we couldn't find, we bought these two black side tables from Wal-Mart for something like 15$ each.

We then printed off the stencil on thick 8x11 paper using a regular old canon bubblejet.  We then taped the sheets together and cut out the stencil.  It only took 4 days of cutting out the stencils before they we're ready.

Once the tables we're taped, we started painting.  And as you can see we we're pretty happy with the finished result.
