Spine Magazine
Spine Magazine

Spine Magazine - An endless feed
the brief.
Having gone through several iterations over the years, Spine Magazine had developed a strong following from industry professionals within Hip-Hop culture the world over.
The focus for the current site, was to act as an aggregator of the latest news from across the globe; up-to-the-minute updates were compiled by the small and well linked editorial team. 'SM' did it's job well, but in an unattractive way, large blocks of poorly styled text jostled within a clumsy layout.
.
the solution.
An Endless Feed was the base concept for
the SM re-design, a 'live updating' feed where the user can scroll
real-time through the entire archive of news, reviews, exclusive
content and downloads. Modular components and dual stream in-line audio
player allow site users to enjoy multiple media all from within the
single page.
The modular nature would allow flexibility of content and ease in the management of the site itself.
The main focus was on the tactile feel of the interaction and clear intuitive usability. The design fulfilled the brief but, unfortunately, the development stage was poorly executed and the final live site does not reflect on the design in any form. You can view some of the original demos via the assets on the main site.
