Soria Fjordia - Screen Print
Every year, the Printer's Organization arrange a competition where the contestants create a screen-print design.
This year's competition's theme was "Norwegian Nature".
The criterias was as follows:
- Max 3 pantone colours.
- 50 x 70 cm dimensions.
- Create a picture with the theme "Norwegian Nature".
- Must be eligable for screen print.
Inspiration
When I read the brief, I immediately thought of what I interpret as Norwegian Nature. What came to mind was the Geiranger Fjord and for a cultural referrance, the Soria Moria painting.
The Geiranger Fjord is one of Norway's most beutiful places which I have actually visited myself. I wanted to integrate it in the image somehow.
The Soria Moria painting is a strong cultural, Norwegian symbol, which I though suited the Fjord senario.
Check out the images I used for inspiration beneath.

The Final Product
This is the product I made in Illustrator.
I actually won first place out of the contributes from my school! Although I did not win the competition all together, I won 20 prints of my image and I got to be at the printers when they did it and I got to help out a lot and I got to follow the process..
I went home with 56 copies in stead of 20 that day..... ;)
