Some Featured Work (Not Us)

Jessica Allan
is an illustrator living in Shoreditch, London. The more you look at
her work, the more influences you see (my thoughts ranged from the
Bayeux Tapestry to Mexican Luxador wrestlers). Use of fine line and
intricate detail mean this work warrants a second look. Wicked.

The Colourful work of Chris Timothy

Kike Besada is a
Spanish Art Director with a large portfolio of commissioned work for
the likes of Nokia and Diesel but also a nice personal portfolio. With
six years experience in the industry its nice to see personal work,
especially when " being gritty and visceral " it is so far removed from
the other side of his portfolio.

Lydia Fee is a
Loughborough illlustration grad now living in London and illustrating
for real. Her work combines collage, paint and various other media to
create rich hand-made pieces which she uses in designing book covers
(see above) amongst many other things. I would love to see this
Hemingway cover come to life.
Watch out for new work on Lydia’s site over the next couple of months as well as a feature in the next ‘Images’ annual, out in August.

Canthaid is the alter ego of the German based Hassan Haider, who is now doing an internship at TwoPoints
in Barcelona. There is some right good Graphic Design coming out of
Germany, and Hassan embodies this with some great editorial work and
his identity work. And he likes hardcore, mint.

Sean Clarke is
another falmouth student with an impressive portfolio. He dropped us a
line to let us know about some new work, including above, a rather nice
recent project to promote the university. He also worked with Tom
Austin - who we featured here - in several projects, including my favourite, the ‘well done’ stickers (see below). Nice stuff Sean.

23 year-old Australian Art-Director Simon Bent
has some fantastic work spread across three different suburbs of planet
interweb. This album cover and music art-direction for DJ Perplex
(above) blew me away, it’s so clean and simple but great fun too.
