The developed concept of a solar-powered mobile phone is
designed for the poors in the developing countries. The phone could be a part of a social program to further develop the cellular network communications. Because this mobile phone should be low-cost, it has no such typical functions like mp3 player, camera or even the possibility to send sms. With the „SoleCall“ you can only make a call. That’s why it features only 10 call buttons and one big on-off button above. This energy-efficient phone is made of the cheapest materials like plastic and rubber. Aesthetically, the „SoleCall“ is very simple, but looks robust and friendly. It is completely protected from dust and dirt what is especially important in local social and climatical conditions. The rubber buffer absorbs on the one hand possible hit effects, on the other hand improves safety and
pleasant use of the phone. The backside of the phone is
completely covered with solar cells to guarantee the optimal charge conditions. With the aid of the slope handle the phone can be easely hung up on a wall or on a tree to make the charging procedure more efficient.
