"A lot of our prints are produced at BDI screenprinting in Brighton, a great space, a veritable batcave of industry covered floor to ceiling with paintings, graffiti and stencils by numerous artists that have had work made there - the stereo is usually up loud, there's beer in the fridge and the odd poker match takes place after hours there.
On the night the last two screens were due to be shot and inked, a pigeon broke into the studio and refused to be ushered out. Nervous that it would fly into the screens and get caked in ink we let it settle in the corner where the screens are stashed, but before it decided the fumes were too much to bear and an exit was required, our feathered critic took a crap on the torquoise transparency! right on the front face of the freight car... As Seasick Steve famously travelled the States by jumping railcars I decided to leave the mark on there for an authentic hobo feel.
Upon presenting the finished print and relaying the story, Steve chuckled heartily with delight."
