Pillbox
One of my scheduled activities at my gallery is painting to live music (usually jazz groups). The paintings sometimes work as resolved pieces, often not. It's more of an exercise in responding to the color, textures and rhythms that I hear in the music rather than setting out to create a finished piece of art. If the image doesn't work as a resolved piece of art, it always provides a nice base-coat of color and texture for future paintings.
This series is just that, paint-overs of previous paintings. No specific plans are ever laid out - I just go with the flow of what I see - many times faces appear. These are some of those "Faces that Saved" the paintings.
