The concept behind this design was to incorporate into one device, two pieces of equipment that children with asthma must have; a peak flow meter and an inhaler.

The amorphous shape is a result of studying the scale and fit to a child’s hand.

Sanitation is achieved by housing the mouth piece inside the device, only protruding outward when the front is twisted through the iris door which opens on the same mechanism. Twisting slightly further pops the door where the medicated canister is housed, allowing for easy replacement.

In terms of use the child breaths into the mouth piece, a reading is calculated and a medicated dose is determined. When the child is ready they press the bottom on the side and the dose is administered.
