Rea
Rea is actually a light installation lamp. The idea is to give questions to the recycle process and the understanding of it.Rea's bulbs are inserted around the main spine irregularly. The 69 bulbs are made from polyethylene terephthalate - thermoplastic polymer resin popular material to produce common bottle (also known as PET). The mounting uses existing endings of bottles (for screw-top). PET bottle recycling is practical and easier: plastic carbonated soft drink bottles and water bottles are almost all made of PET. One of the uses for a recycled PET bottle is for the manufacture of polar material. It can also make fibre for polyester products. There are also materials that allow producing boards and panes.
The spine is made from thermoplastic polymer - polypropylene (PP). Polypropylene is liable to chain degradation from exposure to UV radiation such as that present in sunlight. Polypropylene is most commonly used for plastic mouldings, can form complex shapes at relatively low cost and high volume (bottle tops). The spine pipe is made from ecological polypropylene HT (fully recyclable) and is resistant to high temperatures.
Rea is raising the question and doubts. Is the use of recycled materials enough to call an object "a recycled materials' design"?
