Prince Philip Designers Prize
A brand refresh that reinstates lost prestige into the UK’s longest running design award.
As the UK’s longest-running design award, with nominees selected and judged by an expert panel and chaired by H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince Philip Designers Prize has a history as one of the UK’s most coveted accolades in the design industry.
With a ceremony and exhibition hosted and endorsed by the Design Council, the Prize recognises lifetime achievement and is awarded annually to one of the UK’s most high-profile designers working in the industry today.
Despite all of this, a gradual decline of investment and imagination over recent years has meant that the event itself had not been receiving the attention it deserved. had become relatively insignificant and small-scale.
The existing identity and visual communications were in need of a refresh. We recognised an opportunity to reinstate the prestige of the event by energising the brand across all touch-points " in print, onscreen and in space. A strong set of visual assets had been neglected, and we took the chance to dramatise these through a process of refinement " emphasising the powerful colours and framing nominee work with clean, modern typography that positioned the award firmly in the 21st century.
The event has been a huge success over the last two years, with renewed interest in the design community and national media coverage as MultiAdaptor continue to develop the brand.
‘It’s been an absolute pleasure working with MultiAdaptor. They are extremely talented and passionate and always provide new and innovative solutions to briefs.
I cannot recommend them enough. They are hard working, genuine, honest and dedicated to their work and will always ‘find a way’ to make it work!’
