Hello chums,
I usually spend my time illustrating children's books and as much as I love my job, I need to take a break sometimes. So I draw pictures that aren't book related to take my mind off deadlines and that's what some of these drawings are here. These are my breaks...

ELVIS PRESLEY
This was done with charcoal a number of years ago on a sheet of A1 cartridge paper.

DOCTOR WHO AND THE DALEK
I used an edding pen for this I think (I did it a few years back) and it was quite laboured and time consuming. It was so laboured and time consuming that I don't think I've picked up an edding pen since.

LEONARD COHEN
I saw Lenny at the O2 last year at drew this pen and ink drawing in about half an hour, half an hour after I got back. The man's a genius.

AUDREY HEPBURN

This was a quick drawing done with Quink. I only applied washes to build the drawing up andonce the ink dried, I sprayed it with a secret formula to achieve the mottled effect.

OLD LADY

I like this woman, she's old and creaky and a little bit cheeky. This drawing was donewith my dippy pen and black Indian ink. I moved the pen quickly and didn't let it rest in one spot for long. There's a happy accident underher left (your right) eye when the ink just plopped off my pen but I think it works ok.

This one doesn't have a title- I didn't know what to call it. I'm not even sure it works in colour so well either andI prefer the colour to the black and white one. Mmm...
