Oil Painting - Burst Series

The purest abstract of all my paintings, these are aptly named Burst: they are colour palettes leaping forth from the canvas.
They are not easily identifiable.
I have given them some grounding and accessible meaning with the use of names. Aside from that they are peacefully suspended in a black space. They are powerful yet small enough to be timid and playful. On a larger scale they would simply become overbearing.
These are more a celebration of colour and process than anything else and they are therefore unburdened by the use of imagery and symbols.
