Using the ridiculously time consuming 'stippling' technique to shade and define form, this is the second of two experiments into the illustration style & technique. Though still open to a lot more development and honing of the technique itself, the overall progress so far is fairly good.
As a future aim, greater depth and differentiation is needed to be brought out, alongside bringing colour into the compositions. It is though, overall, very good progress for what I see as only my second ever 'true attempt' at illustration.
- One issue I've yet to find a solution for, is the best way to represent the work digitally; the opening shot is a smaller comp and it's fairly tricky to downscale the image without loosing all the delicate stippled shading from the real iimage, but hopefully some of this can be seen better through the detail shots below. -
