More Details

Oilily opens the doors of its 'Creative Studio Challenge' and invites you to enter the depths of your innovative mind to create a beaded mandala artwork that will be featured in Oilily's Spring/Summer 2009 collection.

Creativity is at the very heart of Oilily's brand essence, and art plays an integral role in everything we do. Each season Oilily weaves together the worlds of Fashion and Art to create original and eye-catching collections for independent women with a passionate interest in contemporary, artisan fashion. 2008 sees us take this connection one step further with the introduction of a seasonal 'Creative Studio Challenge' for creative and innovative students or (semi) professionals with a specific interest in fashion, art, or design.

Beaded Mandala

Echoing Oilily's passion for intricate artwork and delicate detailing, this year's theme is based around beads and the colourful motifs of the mandala. Defined as a symbolic circular design of the cosmos or a deity's essence, the mandala can be used as a focus for meditation and a spiritual teaching tool. So grab whatever creative material takes your fancy, make sure you're sitting comfortably, take a deep breath, and reveal your inner self.

Design the winning piece and you'll go down in history. Not only will you have the status of being the original Oilily 'Creative Studio Challenge' winner, you will also walk away with EUR 1000 and see your design paraded around on Oilily's Limited Edition Monkeybiz 2009 collection of Tees and Totes.
