Developed with a skilled hand, Merriam could easily be classified alongside other English slab-serif typefaces such as Clarendon, but deviates with a smaller x-height and hand-drawn distressed texture amongst a few other stylistic variations. Merriam's textured characters have the appearance of antique printing or weather worn sign painting making the font an excellent choice for easy typesetting with a unique swagger. Merriam is available in Open Type format and supports most languages.
