Percurso de Uma Bola de Mogno (Passage of a Mahogany Ball)

Description:
Sculpture’ s Introduction year’s group project, where each student had to do a part of a mahogany ball’s passage. After coming from a part of the
passage where the ball is moved by different kinds of mechanisms, enters this “slide” where it looses its impulse, until it follows to the next stage of the passage, a kind of xylophone, existing a contrast in the sound produced in both.

Description:
Work made during the exchange student program Sócrates/ Erasmus - Brno, Czech Republic.

Seventeen sound boxes of different sizes, from which a steal cable is hooked in the ceiling, arranged in a room that, when people make the strings vibrate, becomes a huge sound box, a musical instrument in which is necessary to enter.

“(...) the "Álvaros & Chairs“ installation thus reflects the duality that characterizes the actor. Inhabitetd by figures that stand between both plans of existence, it reproduces the transformation of Man into Men - an eternal sustainable growth. The chair element rises here as the theatrical action and fruition, stimulating both actor and audience into the demiurgical discovery.”
