IHT.com: Section Fronts (2008)

The redesign of the section fronts was the final major phase of the site-wide redesign which started in 2007.

Besides making these pages more visually appealing, one of the key goals was to reduce the amount of manual labor involved in producing them. Acknowledging that the majority of site traffic visits the homepage and article-level pages, the section fronts would need to be as automated as possible, allowing producers and editors to focus their efforts on other parts of the site.

By collaborating with and assessing the needs of section stakeholders, along with designing a common template for all section fronts to share, each page was able to be developed and launched rapidly.
