Client: HoopGM (Fantasy Baseketball League)

This was a fun personal project. I have been in a fantasy basketball league with some friends from college for more than 15 years. It is a sophisticated league with salary caps, a custom stat formula, trade deadlines, and other parameters that make it fairly intensive to maintain. We communicate with each other through email, PDF documents, and Excel spreadsheets.
I thought it might enhance the league if I built a website for it. The truth is we haven't utilized the website. So far, our old systems are preferable. I really need to dig into it again and figure out an easy way to upload and display our spreadsheets and weekly results on the site. Once I do that, maybe we'll use it.
The basketball graphic was inspired by the new composite ball that was introduced as the official game ball a couple of years ago. Little did I know that ball would not last and the commish would bring back the leather ball. I was able to construct the ball in Photoshop. With the right texture, shading, and embossing, it was far easier than I expected to illustrate a pretty realistic looking ball. The "Machine Wash" filters sold by MisterRetro.com were invaluable in generating the basketball's proper texture. I use the machine wash filters all the time. They are well worth the purchase price.
Allen Iverson served as the inspiration for the silhouette I designed for the basketball's FBA logo.
