HUG UNITED'S EUROPE BY DESIGNERS PROJECT

My entry to HUG United's Europe By Designers Project. The theme was" What Does Europe Mean To You?" and this was my answer. 

The Philippines is a migrant country. It is estimated that 9% of the population are living and working in other countries mostly in Northern America, Middle East, Australia, Europe and the newly industrialized countries of Asia.

Almost a million of Filipinos are living and working Europe mostly in Italy, Britain and in Spain as caregivers, nurses and maids. Most of them leave their families and careers behind to earn higher salaries to send their children to school to give them their wants and needs while facing racism and sometimes exploitation by their employers and even fellow countrymen.

My aunt is one of those million workers in Europe. This is her story.
