Fashion Fetish 2: Brooklyn Couple

Distillation: photographically portray the connection between commercial culture and sub-conscious desire  

Fetishes are being increasingly infused into mainstream popular culture.
In New York it seeps in at the highest level of influence: student fashion shows, club interiors, advertising campaigns by Diesel, Vivienne Westwood, Patrick Cox and Agent Provocateur.  They all make reference to irrational obsession, objects of desire and insatiable cravings.

In reaction to this cultural observation I distilled the idea of fusing high fashion with sexual fetish imagery.  From this basis I created a prototype for an online community of people with whom this idea resonated.

I came up with the idea to photograph models, engaged in fetishes while wearing pieces from current fashion collections.
