Faber and Faber

The aim for this project was to define a system that could span across the whole Faber Film range. The design takes inspiration from classical book design of Jan Tschichold and Faber publishing of old, attempting to put forward Faber publishing as a publisher of classical cinema books.

A symbol used as a representation of the book.This symbol is then used to create a repeat pattern that covers the front of the book. Referencing the inner covers of classical books.

The typeface used is Trajan Pro, a typeface that is a constant amongst movie poster design being used in classic films the likes of titanic and gladiator.

The Book uses a limited colour palette that is drawn from the publication itself. Like the symbol this hopes to reference the book.
