In the past, the Pelourinho, as depicted on the image, was used for execute criminals. Nowadays, it's probably a tourism spot for those who visit Esgueira.

First, the church and cemetery were mainly used for praying. Nowadays, the church is a signal of community - it's the place for us to find friends, neighbours, and family.
This pictures were took by Diana Oliveira and image edition was made by Afonso Ferreira (that's me).
This pictures were originally destinated to a contest promoted by Junta de Freguesia de Esgueira, Aveiro, Portugal. It was made so that the history and traditions of Esgueira could be perserved. Mainly, our work is about the difference between the present and the past. Thank you very much for watching!
Also, my apologizes by the probable bad quality of this project. The photos were took with a cellphone, so, again, please accept my apologizes. More pictures we'll be added soon.
