Ensor Life-Dead

The illustration was originaly made for the occasion of the 60th anniversary of James Ensors death.
A buch of contemporary artists made there tribute to the Belgian artist, for a book and an exibition.
I was raised with the work of Ensor, being born in Ostend, the town were Ensor lived and worked.
Since I was a kid his images and vision made a strong impression on me.

And a few months later I was asked to make a billboard for the Belle Epoque Festivities in Ostend, the theme was again Ensor - so I used my illustration.
