Drawings
The pencil is perhaps my tool of choice. Its line is at the core of all artful practice, and its mark knows no limits. When I draw, I am inspired by the look and feel of black and white imagery, and I enjoy the challenge of its limitations of both color and light. I try to create dramatic portraiture by moving beyond what is expected, and push the boundaries of what a drawing should and can be. I tend to construct intensely photorealistic compositions with a cinematic quality, depicting traditional genres and subject matter, but with a very contemporary feel. I am fond of the human figure and all of its possible forms of expression, and am interested in continuing the discourse of poetry through portraiture. In the end, I only hope to wow my viewers and introduce them to a practice that is not so commonplace.
