Furniture Design: DraaiKast (spinning cabinet)

The
"Draaikast" is a personal furniture design project. While my apartment
is less spacious than I would like it to be, I figured that designing a
multipurpose cabinet would serve me best. Besides storing stuff at the
frontside (primarily dvd's), it also has a backside. This is the place
where the less frequently needed or less visually attractive stuff goes. Check
the animation below for a demonstration.
The frame is constructed from 'new' wood. The shell is made of torn apart pallets. The bottom layer is from a multiplex desk that was otherwise thrown away. Shelves are from new multiplex.
