Dementia
Dementia is an illness that deteriorates a sufferer’s mind; a human’s sense of self and sanity. Nine photographs were shot to visually depict the frightening, delirious state of a Dementia sufferer’s mind. The photographs narrate in three series of three shots: Dementia sufferers first begin to lose memories, followed by the recognition of their loved ones, and they ultimately lose their own identity. They fall deeper into their own world (of delusions and oblivion), seeing their loved ones as a threat before disappearing and becoming increasingly lost to the real world.
