Covering the Redneck Olympics

This red mud stained hillbilly  character was the watermelon seed spitting champion 2 years in a row. This year he lost, and I think he took it quite hard, because every time I saw him afterwards he had a sad look about him. In the photo he's about to go on stage to compete for the grand award of Mr. Redneck. He lost that contest as well, and afterwards I caught a glimpse of him yanking his kids and obese wife to make a a quick getaway before his hillbilly buds could give him any shit about loosing every event.

Jesus is coming soon to the diesel pump.

This is Mr Fireworks. He tried to sell us on filming his firework show so he could air it on tv and promote his business. The fireworks were impressive but we had to make a quick escape from the crazy rednecks who were quickly becoming like ravenous  animals screaming "hey, put me on the tv!!"

This lonely gas pump was right below a huge cross with huge "Jesus Is Coming Soon" lettering on it.

We were shooting B-Roll on our way out of Dublin, and I happened to stumble on this lonely vacant building off of the main road.
