Color Scale of Things is a project about the elements that name colors, the referent of the color. By taking pictures of this elements, we can bring it back to the people sight, once we forget why the colors have the name they have. Each color is made by a tryptic of photos and it will be printed as a color guide catalogue.

 

If you remember something that name a color, please send it to me (contato@leticialampert.com.br) or leave a comment here! I am still looking for words to photograph and complete the catalogue. I am looking for expressions in both English and Portuguese languages.

Wow this is very interesting idea. I like how each object that matches the colour presented in the picture isnt relativly the same as the previous one. Theres a flower, food, even a donkey. Very nice, very creative.

There is an older book, I think its called "The Book of Color Names" and sorts colors by name and refers to the Munsell reference number. Its out of print but you may be able to find it in an english language library. It does the same thing you are doing but without the lovely pictures!
