Sustainable Packaging / Product Design

Two problems in recycling used cooking oil into biofuel:

1. The existing packaging cooking oil is sold in is not designed for refilling and not recyclable after becoming contaminated with used oil, thereby creating more waste.

2. Recycle biofuel needs to be filtered and separated several times before it can me turned into biofuel. This is time consuming and costly, yet it is sold at the same rate as virgin biofuel.

Our solution:

An optimized can with a built in filter is ergonomically designed for refilling and is easily cleaned and reused.  The can cuts the filtering and separation time needed in recycling used cooking oil to biofuel, lowering the cost of biofuel production.
