Looking to overhaul their flagship website, the team at National Vehicles needed a vision for their best-in-class used car marketplace. I delivered by designing a site that was significantly easier to use and browse, could generate more ad revenue, and incorporated many small innovations.

The main concept of this redesign was returning the website to its roots - focusing the user's attention, and screen real estate, back onto ClassyAuto's core business and the site's main functionalities.

I wish I took a screenshot of what the website looked like before this redesign! There were outgoing links to third-party websites in the top navigation, every segment of the site was cluttered with ads, images and links, and there was absolutely no information hierarchy present.

With the help of the fine people at ClassyAuto, I stripped out everything that wasn't necessary and refreshed the entire look and feel of the website. I did this while increasing overall ad space by 50%, as well as the number of listings per page - both business requirements of the project.

And I focused on adding as much whitespace and visual hierarchy to the design as possible - making the website more scannable and browsable, to align with how the majority of users interact with the website.
