Any coin will help us clean the victims of oil spills

Background
On November 10th seven vessels wrecked in the Kerchinsky Strait as a result of a heavy storm. More than 3 thousands tons of oil leaked into the sea. The oil disaster destroyed the winter habitats of the migrating birds, including rare and endangered species. Nearly 30 thousand birds perished. Greenpeace helped the volunteers clean up the oil. If nothing had been done, during the following spring storms, the oil would again surface, polluting the coasts and threatening the birds again.

Challenge
Greenpeace Russia asked us to find a smart way to draw attention to the problem at the Kerchensky Strait, encouraging people to make a donation of any amount to help oil skimmers and the cleaning of endangered birds.

Solution
We created fly-cards with oil stained birds. The oil stain was printed as a "scratch 'n' remove" layer, like the ones in instant lottery tickets. With a coin, people could wipe out the oil and literally visualize how the smallest of the donations could help.
