Battered Type Syndrome

I received a type assignment from the NY Times where the brief was to develop a fast type treatment for the phrase skin in the game. The client requested that the type appear to be made from bashed and bruised skin. The final character forms above are based on the OurType typeface SansaSoft and kind of look like little typographic mutants. Pretty gross right? Anyway, it was a bit of fun.
