Bed : the series
Episode 1

Written & Directed by Chris Bradford

If you live in New York City, and you're in your 20s, chances are you spend a lot of time in bed.

For one thing, real-estate is not this city's strong-suit, particularly for the entry-level salaried folk for which reasonably-sized apartments with actual living rooms are few and far between. While I have no official source or stat to quote here, I think it's safe to say that NYC-dwelling twenty-somethings are in their beds far more than those who reside in space-aplenty cities like, say, Los Angeles, or Lincoln, Nebraska.
Back in January of this year, I was sitting in my own hobbit-sized Greenwich Village bedroom, desperately wanting to escape the depressingly cold New York winter and mentally cursing my job for not having a Miami office I could temporarily transfer to. With not much else to do, I started writing what I originally thought would be a short film. It would be called "bed."

Long story short, the idea quickly evolved from a short film into something more serial. One bed turned into two which turned into three. A few months and many a drink later, I had a 26-paged script, a very talented and generous cast and crew I somehow coerced into working for free, and half a credit card to max out for lights, food and bar tabs.

After an exhausting 4 week period of trying to find time between our respective day and night jobs to rehearse, 3 long weekend nights of shooting and a much prolonged editing and mixing process, we are happy to present to you now, dear reader, the pilot of what we can only hope will be a continuing first season of Bed the Series.

Great acting, and connection between characters. The music reflects the style of the series and it's subject matter very well. I can't wait to see the next episode!

respect for pulling this of, lots of hard work! really well done!

one thing though, i'm not sure about the music playing in the background during the longer dialoge with the two girls in the beginning. for me the music is a bit distracting and makes it harder to follow their conversation. perhaps it's my lack of experience with the english language :]
