Alternative Christmas Cards

Starting with my personal favourite... The idea came as I was working on the design directly below (King Kong Kristmas) and had to set it to one side to complete this before I could come back to it. I quite like the idea of subverting the natural look of animals- ie- using their markings to turn them into a steriotype. I think I like this design the most due to the fact that Emperor penguin chick (which these are) normally seem quite cute and innocent.

The idea behind this card came in stages. I was originally wanting to put a King Kong style gorilla on the Eiffel tower but as it got closer to Christmas (and the basic triangle blocking saved for the tower started to look more and more like a christmas tree) I gave in and made it into a card.

Less... well for want of a better word... alternative, this card was designed specifically with someone in mind. Ideally I would liked to have had a better tinsel image as this is quite a close shot and makes the cat seem a lot smaller than I would ideally have liked.
