ARCUS shower cabin

The ARCUS shower cabin system, which was created by me in cooperation with the Austrian company PALME, creates a new space feeling in the shower.
Usual shower cabins feel like boxes - even when they are done almost just out of glass. It is simply that the perception of the user recognizes straight lines around him, which create a closed space.
ARCUS works with an optical trick: the 2 L-shaped elements focus the perception of the user on them and the glass doors are no longer seen as a bordering element. Moreover the L-shaped elements allow the glass to touch the wall without ANY profile, because the glass plates are held within them and can be adjusted to slight slopes of the walls also within the carrying elements.
This gives new freedom for bath design, because now decorative horizontal lines (like the wooden line shown in the bathroom snap above) are not interrupted anymore by metal profiles and so the shower space is optically integrated into the bathroom.

The main carrying element of the shower cabin is this L-shaped form, which is done out of aluminium and has a brushed surface.
There is a very complicated machinery inside that element, which allows to adjust the position of the side glass element and the glass door (because hardly ever a wall is absolute vertical and hardly ever a floor is absolute horizontal)

Under these lines You see the effect, that the shower cabin gives to a ususal bathroom. In the first example a usual shower cabin is used. The shower space is completely separated from the bath and looks like a telephone cell. The second picture shows the same bathroom equipped with an ARCUS shower cabin. Immediately the shower space feels more integrated in the bathroom.
