ARCHETYPAL is a family of lamps which questions the idea of the
archetype. The archetypal object is an abstract element that belongs
to our memory and helps us define a unique representation of a type of
object."

The idea is that the whole lamp becomes the lamp shade. The top is made of blown glass and has three different finishings: frosted, clear and mirror. The idea is that it is a floating shape which is there and it is not there, as a blury image of a lamp.

The mirror finishing is achieved by a manufacturing process called "vacuum metalising", which allows the element to reflect its environment but when it glows it becomes clear and lets the light through. The idea is that the lamp is granted its identity when it glows.

The lamps are in process of being produced by a Spanish manufacturer. Hopefully, they will be made soon. If you were really interested I could make you one.
Cheers.
