While the American auto industry self destructs, and the anonymous, amorphous, practical  Japanese built saloon is ascendant, it's time to take another glance at the iconic America automobile. With its brute Michigan design aesthetic, these behemoths might provoke the ire of the environmentalist, or the drools of the enthusiast, but never do they engender ambivalence. The cars shown here are practical working transportation solutions, parked in lots or side streets near their owner's workplace; not your concourse d'elegance restored toys -and all the more beautiful for it too.
