Ryan Leitao
London, United KingdomI am an enthusiastic and extremely passionate young designer who is able to create fresh, creative, original ideas to a variety of projects ranging from web design, through to print and social media campaigns. I absolutely love finding new ways to design assets that not only create a clear and effective message to clients, but demonstrate it in innovative ways.
Having a wide variety of specialisations- My design experience has seen me creating assets with Adobe Photoshop for trade shows, tournaments, competitions and journalistic articles for clients such as The Gadget Show Live. High-profile clients such as Universal Studios and Alienware have expressed favourably on my design of attractive, highly refined and user-friendly websites for their campaigns on prominent brands as well as my confidence in liaising with clients. My motion design experience has had me collaborate with my former university and a current student to create a short animation for the university's marketing campaign over the summer, a few weeks after I graduated. I am eager to push boundaries and explore trends while solving real problems. Whilst at the same time, I am always constantly learning and refining already formidable skills through daily sketch sessions, freelance projects or in-between larger project breaks.
I work well both with a team and independently to deliver projects to specification and on time. I pride myself on having a strong eye for detail and extensive knowledge of end-to-end web design process and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) but also have a willingness to learn more.
Please view my online portfolio at www.freeflowart.com. Also, a more comprehensive breakdown of my projects can be seen at www.be.net/freeflow
My ambitions are fuelled by my love for art, and a strong passion to create work people love.

Education
University For The Creative Arts (UCA) - Rochester
BA (Hons) CG Arts and Animation
One of my second year projects was a collaboration with two other students in producing a trailer/teaser animation based on a chosen title. My responsibilities were the overall concept art, modelling a number of elements, environment texturing/lighting of environments, special effects, as well as marketing and branding of the animation
For my final major project I looked into augmented reality and projection mapping. I created a proof of concept combining with game engines such as Unity3D and specialised hardware such as the Microsoft Kinect. As well as used my skills in Maya and After Effects that allowed me to create interactive/convincing pseudo-3D. My minor project I looked into the psychology and ethics of future technology. The project was to create and demonstrate fictional products within a satirical upbeat shopping channel-like animation. The products, twisted enough to be subtly unethical, was based on current real-life advances on technology.

My final major project looked into Gestalt Theory, the final piece conveyed a woman on a physically broken canvas, interpreting Gestalt's meaning of that the whole is greater then some of its component parts.
It allowed me to develop skills of psychology within art, specifically perceptual processes and visual perception of work, which taught me in understanding how people translate physical information from the senses into the psychological experience of perception.
