Also known as El Nitro, assembled in Mexico City in the early 80's and creating ever since.
Currently news contributor at Computerlove and Región4.org.mx, sxc.hu certified stock photographer since 2002.
Been using "creative" software since age 8 (MS-Paint on windows 3.1 and the then-new CorelDraw3).
Walks the autodidact (self-taught) path along with highly talented people who at the same time provide invaluable support and inspiration.
At age 19, the only "formal" design education ended after 6 months of numbness learning "gouache" and how to make a cereal box with prismacolor pencils when the main focus in mind was learning photoshop and web design.
Skipped the remaining 8 semesters of Graphic Design in a boring school and replaced them with freelance gigs for clients like Dave & Buster's and HSBC Mexico, won 2nd place at the first National Computer Art Competition (Mexico, 2003), then landed a full-time position as Graphics Artist for an online gaming company on the island of Curacao, in the South Caribbean.
After a couple of months, it was time to go back to Mexico and learn the dark art of Advertising, working for agencies the caliber of DDB and Y&R as Art Director at their Mexico City headquarters with clients like McDonald's, Wyeth Laboratories, Philip Morris, Avon Cosmetics, Danone, Cervecería Cuahtémoc-Moctezuma and Appleton Jamaica Rum... all that while doing personal work on the side and speaking at events like Flash For Mexico (2004), OFFF Valencia (2004) and OFFF Barcelona (2005) until finally giving up the tough, dull office life in 2006. In return, gaining some peace of mind and a short photo trip to Switzerland.
The inspiring view and the distance from home allowed for a clear perspective on what to do next: live to create and have fun in the process, hopefully inspiring others to do the same.
Freelance has been the name of the game ever since, who knows what's next...
My goal:
To provide mental enlightenment through visual stimulation.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
*Trendwhores: don't try adding me to your circles, don't even bother contacting me, I will -not- post your stuff on Computerlove.
Please DO NOT SPAM me with links unless it's something absolutely special or fresh, that's not how I pick content. I care about the "engine", not the wagons on a train.
I am serious about this. Thank you.
