Jan Filipek studied Visual communication on Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. He finished 6-year Master of art studies (2002 - 2008) and right after he was accepted to Type and Media Master course at KABK in The Hague, Netherlands. After completing the course (2009) with his diploma project, Preto typeface, he is working as freelance graphic and font designer. Since 2009 he is running DizajnDesign Type Foundry located in Bratislava, Slovakia.
