David Bleiman joined Rutherford & Chekene in 2000 and transitioned into the role of CEO in March of 2010. He is a recognized A/E/C industry leader in the application of BIM and Integrated Project Delivery and was honored by the AIA California Council with a Presidential Citation for his work as part of the organization’s Integrated Project Delivery Definition Task Group. Under David’s leadership, R&C has designed over $4 billion in projects using BIM since 2004. Autodesk honored R&C with a Revit BIM Experience Award in 2008 for its innovative use of BIM to promote integration and collaboration across the extended building team.
Dave directed the in-house team at R&C that collaborated with Autodesk to create a productivity enhancing app for Revit Structure called popIcon (www.popiconsoftware.com), which will be expanded to accommodate architecture and other engineering disciplines for the Revit 2013 release.
He is principal structural engineer on many of R&C’s significant healthcare and laboratory projects, including Sutter Healthcare’s Anderson Lucchetti Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Sacramento, the Stanford School of Medicine Li Ka-Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge and three recent projects for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory—the Molecular Foundry, the Solar Energy Research Center, and the Helios Alternative Energy Research Center.
