Our scope of work is virtually limitless. We’ve painted on ceilings, on stadium tarps, during the day, at night, on rooftops, in-studio, 300 feet off the ground, on all kinds of surfaces, in any weather, detailed, abstract, for elite fine arts clients and major commercial advertisers. Our hand paint work is a careful craft, a well-trained skill, and it’s our life. Colossal Media has permanent locations in major markets throughout the US, and a custom acquisitions division that scouts locations for clients nationwide. No one else has our in-house capabilities of scouting and securing locations, making us a full-service hand painted outdoor advertising company.

Our Painters

Wall dogs, the moniker of the muralists who spend their lives suspended above the city streets, creating larger than life images on building walls, are no longer just relics of the past. Through our apprenticeship program we are keeping the art of hand painted outdoor advertising alive.
By tapping into the 165 years of cumulative sign painting experience, including a direct lineage of painters going back over 50 years, we have been able to teach an entirely new generation of painters. Our apprenticeship program places young muralists in the hands of lifelong wall dogs, instructing them in every aspect of painting, rigging and color matching. No matter how detailed or abstract, our painters have specialized training and a unique eye that allows them to reproduce any image at the highest consistent quality for any hand-painted wall mural or project.

Our Approach

To those who describe hand painted outdoor advertising as a dying art, we respectfully disagree. In fact, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times credit us singularly for its resurgence.
