Any recommendation you have for the collective, please post in this topic.

I'll use this first post. Any local san franciscans will surely be aware of the St Francis Soda fountain in the mission. Best place to get a banana-split, sundae or vegan chorizo hash (okay maybe not this last one) since 1918 or something. yay for history.

How sad I had learned to see see that my lovely SF has turned into a breeding ground for a neverending slew of condo developers while i was living abroad in europe between 2005-07. The gentrification of the mission continues, more mexican/central american families will continue to be forced out, whilst one of the few last bastions of mission history still stands deviantly.

I would like to bottle this 'fuck you' to SF real estate developers by developing a typeface based off the absolutely gorgeous hand lettering on the side of the st francis. At last! One piece of the mission we can save forever, irregardless of how the neighbourhood's landscape changes.

And the signage doesn't stop here. There are tons of gems to be found all over the mission, you just need to know where to look.

I'd love to connect with a local typographer, or a graphic designer experienced in typographic design who has developed a face from start to finish as this will be my first foray into such a project.

Would be great to do a whole series based off of old signage in the neighborhood.

Reply if you'd like to contribute.
