i'm a big fan of japanese caligrafy and typografy an even tho i've no idea what it says i think it jus looks beautiful, same with arabic, hebrew, chineseand indian cos each letter looks like an image/grafic in its own right. roman is the same but as i see it all the time i take it for granted and you are right helvetica is cool!!!!!

hey man I have seen some of the japanese characters but not enough. I would like to get into it and find out more. i'm always down for a challenge. as a type addict i've always try to make type abstract yet readable. let me know were i could find about them.

Yes, I'm Japanese.
It says there are over 6000 of japanese characters. It makes more difficult to make nice typefaces, I think. When I worked in Tokyo, I used the roman alphabet for everything. I left Tokyo and now I'm thinking. Why I didn't use japanese characters? Why?
That time, I was thinking the japanese characters are not cool. Look at the Helvetica, how it is beautiful. Now, I'm curious how I can use the japanese characters as cool.

Let me hear what do you think of japanese characters. If you are japanese or not, if you never seen it before, doesn't matter. Let's talk about it.
