Hi,
first post here :)

My weapon of choice is Native Instruments Reaktor. I use it for almost everything and it is great to do unusual stuff. An example of what I mean is using genetics to have some fun

http://www.behance.net/Galler...sic/266879

I also use Apple Logic Studio for production and Ableton Live to do some complex routing or for theatre live performance. I also got Omnisphere when it was released and i'm enjoying it very much :) As hardware I can rely on my "old boy" Nord Modular G2X and a Moog Voyager... other than my homemade toys, such as the Stethosphone ( http://www.behance.net/Galler...one/234909 ) and some circuit bent stuff.

All of that is what I left safe... I've sold almost everything of my studio due to lack of space eheheheh Now i'm approaching mic techniques and this is a very interesting field to learn and, since I've just bought Komplete 5, i'm planning to do some great sampling and programming on next weeks.

Cheers,

Hrrrrr, would love to get my hands on lemur - looks like a lot of fun to me...

I'm on Cubase 4.5 (upgrade to 5 is on the way) - been working with Cubase since SX, before it was Logic. I've been using Reason from 1.0 to 2.5, i guess - good to sketch up some quick ideas.

For sound design, I do not really have a weapon of choice - besides some microphones. I just like to start recording something and sqeeze the shit out of it with some nice PlugIns like ArcDev's or GuitarRig for example...

For orchestral sounds I prefer Halion Symphonic Lib & The Grand and hope to get VSL soon, hehe... ;)

So, that's what's up in germany! Nice to meet all of you guys!

Cheers,
Jochen

Hi

first post here!

I use Logic 8 for all my music composition and Soundtrack Pro for all my sound design work. A lot of people seem to have issues with Soundtrack, but I use it every day designing sound on commercials and it works fine for me! I'm a big fan of Spectrasonics software - I got Omnisphere recently and I've been using it on every project since I got it! - but I would use RMX a lot, especially for getting tracks up and going fast. Otherwise I have a lot of other plugs, ones that stand out would be Ohmforce Ohmicide for getting things dirty! Korg Legacy Collection, and some of the NI Kontakt Player third party libraries like Heavocity & Sample Logic. I also use a good few hardware synths new & old ...

here is a link to a project that I'm just finishing up...

I've created all the on screen packaging for the advertising industry awards night here in Ireland. Just using Omnisphere and RMX for the drum parts.

anywhoo

good to be here!

Hi to all my first post here, the programs i use are logic pro 8, ableton 6 for sequencing and sample manipulation. As far as instruments go I use Massive by Native instruments. Effects wise I use the Ohmforce stuff and the SonaIksis Filters, also Reaktor and Max/MSP for building my own synths, sound manglers and effects. If i need more 'traditional' instruments i will use sample banks but i do prefer to make my own.

Simon.

It's ridiculous that with the long list of programs, there isn't any overlap yet ha I feel I'm gonna be jumping into more than I anticipated.

I'm currently using Live 7.0.7 for all production. I use Reason 2.5 occasionally, mainly for the MK-II Rhodes refills I have. I tried importing them into live via Sampler, but it would just take too much work. But yeah, Live 7 & my cavalcade of VSTs. Specifically the free MDA collection, Antares Auto-Tune (hells yeah!), and Waves.

Not program related, but I also use my daughter's toy harmonica and my wife's old Yamaha PS-55 when the feeling's right.

Cool, thanks for the suggestions. I haven't had a chance to sit down and check them out - yet.

Hi,

I run Cubase 4.1, TC Powercore MK2 (DSP Card with Dope plugin's), Battery, Kontakt and Absynth 4 and the albino.

I use cubase 4.1 because I have been a Cubase user since SX 1, I find the work Flow fast and it does eveything I need and it runs on both mac and pc.

I love the native instruments instruments battery and kontakt are amazing for manipulating samples and Absynth is a beast at creating evolving synth patchs and atmospheres.

And teh powercore is a must for teh high end system 6000 reverbs

Try this program its free and open source

http://reaper.fm/

I have used it edit audio for the economists audio magazine when I was still a student. Its pretty good and free! should be a good place to learn the basics and have a play around!

Hope that helps a bit

Lewis
