Circles
Spielraum translates (roughly - forgive me, native German speakers) as 'running room' or 'play space'. Or so I am told.
To 'run' or to play with the city, in our mind or with our bodies: this is the role of the contemporary flaneur (time-waster or idler, in the common parlance).
There are many ways to find room, to run or play in the urban landscapes of the western world. In Sydney, years ago, an elderley man spent his days, over many years of his life, inscribing the word 'Eternity' onto pavements, in white chalk. To do so again and again: this was what he gave the City.
My gift is to write, and to occasionally make images of one kind or another.
If you need the city, or need to escape the city, join the circle, embrace the uncertainty and help spread the love.
