Have you caught anything with your pants down lately?
Some of you will spend seconds, some of you will spend hours looking, thinking, contemplating life, writing lists, doing the crossword, staring at that blank wall, bare brick, tiles....WHAT AM I GOING ON ABOUT???
Your toilet time and most importantly your toilet view. So many views are taken for granted because they are always there and common to us. BUT this view that is seen by you between 3-5 times a day is totally unique and fresh to another person. Our days are so intensive and 24/7 that time-out on a toilet can be found as an escape. An insight into one's home and bathroom/toilet is a very private view.....so next time you use your toilet take your camera with you and snap away.
Do you think you have a unique view? do you live in the wilderness, camper van, tree-house, bunker? is the view dark, light, have loads of shadows, bright colours, stark, made of metal? I want to know your view and also your thoughts of that view. What do you think about when you see that view? does it bother you? do you feel negative or positive about it? Is your toilet a throne? the seated view - your private view.
I could get into Freud and his theories of primal creativity?
Part of the proceeds of this book will go the Beating Bowel Cancer charity. This is obviously on a deeper level and part of the main serious theory behind the book is cultural differences between our private view and toilet/bowel movements. Why in western society we seem to have problems with our natural bodily needs and tend to shy away from discussing them.
