Although experienced with photography for the past twenty-four years, Christophe became interested in shooting the female form when he met his muse, his wife Anne. Despite being a physicist during the day his passion for photography has been motivated by his love both to his wife and of the natural curves of the female body. As an artist who shoots and processes film, he believes the photographic print doesn't have anything to do with reality. "It is only a two dimensional piece of paper," he says. "The connection between a photograph and reality is driven by the reconstruction made in the observer’s brain. For example, we always see a white paper even under colored lighting because our brain corrects directly the ‘real’ signal from the eye to match our knowledge - this page of paper is white.” Read Less

“The power of a photograph is to be naturally considered as real by observers. This is not the case for a painting or a sculpture. So, the information in the photographic image goes straight into your mind with the label “REAL”! But it is not!" One possibility in photography is to, as much as possible, report.
